Ryaed keen to create waves in Pak tennis

Ryaed Khaqan was named as an emerging player of the Islamabad Tennis Complex (ITC) by former Davis Cup coach and ITC MD Fazle Subhan. Ryaed started playing tennis at the young age of 6 and has managed to win his inaugural round match of U-12 category against a seasoned player and was all set to make another upset against the top seeds of the U-12 category but lost the match 8-6 by a narrow margin. Talking to The Nation, Ryaed said: “I have loved tennis since I was 3. I made up my mind to play tennis and I idealise the tennis maestro Rafeal Nadal and want to become a true legend like him. I am excited about learning the trade from one of the highly respectable coaches of the country Fazle Subhan and Kamran Khalil. I hope in the next 4-5 years, I will be able to achieve my target.” The Nation, Islamabad, Saturday, January, 2015.
